Associations
There are
several associations within the Jefferson County Fire Service. The organizations
have focused interests and goals to foster common fire service practices across
the County. Almost all fire departments have representation on the following
groups:
- Trustees Association
The Trustee's Association is the
umbrella organization which seeks to establish common standards relating to
the overall management of fire districts.
- Fire Chiefs Association
The Jefferson County Fire Chiefs Association meets regularly to direct the
other organizations in the completion of their respective missions. The
Chiefs are the parent association and provide oversight to the Inspectors,
Instructors, Firefighters Associations & Special Operations Teams.
- Fire Inspectors Association
The Fire Inspector's Association promotes public fire safety education, fire
inspectors training and education, and discusses solutions to fire
inspections and uniform fire code applications that arise from new
technologies.
- Fire Instructor Association
The Instructor's
Association seeks to support the highest level of training to the
firefighters with the latest techniques and technologies available. This
group conducts an annual regional fire school in addition to special
seminars throughout Jefferson County.
- Firefighters Associations
The Jefferson County Firefighters Association was the first to organize and
provide training for firefighters in Jefferson County over twenty years ago.
Meetings are held every other month at various stations around Jefferson
County. The association provides a training session at most of it's meetings
as well as carry out the business of the association.
